Our Extended Day program provides an engaging atmosphere for children before and after school.
An extension of the school day, EDP (Extended Day Program) continues the core values of The Perkins School. Through a variety of activities, clubs, quiet spaces, and free choice toys and games, each child is able to choose from various relaxing indoor options or more active play outside, in whatever way feels most beneficial to them.
Morning EDP is conveniently available from 7:30 a.m. until school begins around 8:25, depending on the grade. Space is limited and enrollment offers will be extended in late August by email to all enrolled parents. Attending morning EDP without any prior enrollment will begin at 8:00a.m.
After-school EDP is available until 6:00 p.m. There is a daily drop-in rate, or a discounted annual rate for children attending full-time.
We also offer all-day EDP during school closures such as parent/teacher conferences, mid-winter and spring breaks, and certain teacher development days.
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES: FURTHERING INTEREST AND INVOLVEMENT
Perkins hosts a variety of periodic after-school clubs and activities throughout the school year, typically lasting 6-8 weeks. Some are run by staff or parents who donate their time to create free extra-curricular opportunities such as Running Club, Bike Club, Robotics Club, Cooking Club, and Clay Club. Others are run by carefully selected outside vendors who charge reasonable rates for group activities including Yoga, Drama, Lego, and Chess.
