Learning Specialist:
The Perkins School is seeking a Learning Specialist to join our student support team. Learning Specialists collaborate with classroom teachers and families to ensure that students receive individualized learning support that fits their academic and social/emotional needs.

Job Description:
Preparing and teaching an advanced group in mathematics
Helping to prep, conceptualize, and teach small groups in reading, writing, and math
Write reports twice yearly for students in the advanced group in mathematics and on relevant sections of students with whom you are specifically supporting
One-on-one student support with students k-5 in all academic areas, both push-in and pull-out
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues
Helping to coordinate assessments, both directly and in conjunction with core teachers
Coordinating with core teachers to plan instruction, bringing ideas for differentiation at both ends of the academic spectrum
Curriculum research and documentation
Teaching tech class to 2/3 and 4/5 classes
Job Requirements:
Candidates must have the following:
Teaching Certificate
Experience teaching elementary age children in a classroom setting
Experience providing intervention for students
Experience with curriculum development
School leadership experience
Willingness to collaboratively develop curriculum and work closely with colleagues
Strong writing and oral communication skills
Proficiency in using technology as a learning support tool
Candidates should also have the following characteristics:
A self-starter that has ideas for engaging students in a dynamic, experiential curriculum
Deeply well-liked by students and their parents
Collaborate exceptionally well in team teaching situations
Enjoy all children and have respect for childhood
Progressive approach to teaching and learning
Demonstrates familiarity with current research and best practices in learning, differentiation, and teaching
Experience in any of the following curricula is helpful but not required: Bridges Mathematics, Wired for Reading, Second Step
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $92,000 depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and life insurance.

On-Call Substitute
Perkins is hiring on-call substitutes for the 24-25 school year. Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree. Previous teaching or subbing experience and/or a degree in the field of education is preferred.
The pay for this position is $25.00/hour.
