Thank you for considering The Perkins School! We want to make our admissions process as easy as possible. We encourage you to call us with any questions.
All forms, links, and documents are available on Ravenna. This is a platform shared by most Puget Sound independent schools to streamline the admissions process for parents.
We look forward to meeting your family! Feel free to contact us to seek clarity, ask questions, or to chat. We are happy to help.

Step 1: Information Session (required)
Our Information Sessions are virtual, last about 90 minutes, and are a required part of our application process. They are your first step in learning about our community, our approach to learning, and what sets Perkins apart. Barry, our Head of School, will join us for a Q&A session.
Step 2: Parent Campus Tour (optional)
We invite you to visit on a weekday morning to observe our teachers and students in action together. A member of our admissions team will take you on a guided walk through our campus, with an opportunity to observe a variety of subjects and grade levels. Our Campus Tours last 60 minutes and are for adults only.
Step 3: Parent Open House - Highly Recommended (optional)
We hope you will join us for one of two Open Houses this year! Teachers will present information about their curriculum and approach to working with students. You’ll get a sense of a typical day at Perkins and have an opportunity to chat 1:1 with teachers, administrators, and current parents. Open Houses are for adults only.
Saturday, December 7th, 2024: 9:00 - 10:45 a.m.
Wednesday, January 15th, 2025: 6:00 - 7:45 p.m.
Step 4: Parent Conversation (required)
After submitting your application, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with a member of our admissions team. This informal conversation is an opportunity for you to ask general questions and ones more specific to your child - and to share your goals for your child’s education. Meetings last approximately 45 minutes and can take place in person or via Zoom (your choice).
The following need to occur at least one week prior to your Parent Conversation:
At least one parent has attended an Information Session
Preliminary Application has been received
Parent/Guardian Statement has been received
Teacher Evaluation has been received
Step 5: Student Visit (required)
Kindergarten - Kindergarten applicants will be invited to join us in small groups on March 8th to participate in a variety of engaging activities led by our Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers. The schedule and additional details will be shared prior to the visit.
1st - 5th Grades - Older students typically visit us in February during school hours. These visits are an opportunity for applicants to experience a day in the life of a Perkins student. More details will be provided in January, and we work closely with parents in the timing of their student’s campus visit.
Step 6: Coffee With Perkins Parents (optional)
After submitting your application, you will be invited to join one of several Coffee Chats with a few Perkins parents. This is an opportunity to ask current parents about their child’s experience at Perkins.
Dates for Coffee Chats will be shared in January. Chats typically occur in February.
